Connor Syme slips to T20 finish in NSW Open
Drumoig amateur Connor Syme, winner of the Australian open amateur golf championship earlier this year, finished joint 20th today (Sunday) in the New South Wales Open championship at Stonecutters Ridge Golf Club, Colebee.
Syme, 20, tied fifth after three rounds, failed to break 70 for the first time in a final-round 73 and finished with a 14-under-par aggregate of 274 (69-68-64-73).
His third round contained nine birdies and one bogey.
Arizona-based Dornoch exile Jimmy Gunn fnished T40 on 277 with rounds of 66, 673, 73 and 65.
The tournament was won by Australian pro Adam Blyth with a 23-under-par total of 265 (65-63-66-71). He finished two shots ahead of Aussie amateur Brett Coletta (62-72-67-67) and pro Jarryd Felton (68-67-66-67).
