AMATEUR SYME IN THE MIX AT NEW
SOUTH WALES OPEN
Conor
Syme, 21-year-old son of the Drumoig Golf Centre owner/professional,
was in joint fifth place after three rounds of the New South Wales Open
golf championship at Stonecutters Ridge Golf Club, Colebee.
Syme, pictured, already winner of this year's Australian open amateur championship,
shot rounds of 69, 68 and 64 for a tally of 15-under-par 201 - seven
shots behind Aussie pro leader Adam Blyth (65-63-66 for 194).
Conor had nine birdies and one bogey in halves of 31-33 for this third round.Jimmy Gunn, an Arizona-based Dornoch exile, turned up in Australia to play in the NSW Open but is T67 on 212 after rounds of 66, 73 and 73.
