Euan Walker from Troon, a final year student at the
University of Missouri, was in a tie for 14th place after Friday's opening round of the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate at Blackburn Club, the Ridges in Tennessee.Over a par-72 course of 7,147yd, the Scot, pictured right, shot a two-under 70 to be five behind the leader, Thomas Eldridge (UNCW).
Rory Franssen from Inverness, another Missouri student, is not playing in this 54-hole event.
Three Charlotte University students are in the field of 84.
Conor Purcell, a freshman from Dublin, is T34 on 74; Matty Lamb, a freshman from Hexham, is T61 on the 75 mark while a third Charlotte student, John Gough, a freshman from Dublin, is T76 on 78.
