Neil and Savage in the mix at Tarragona

Bradley Neil is in third position and Jamie Savage joint fourth after the first round of the 54-hole Spanish Evolve Tour's Pre-Q School tournament at Bonmont Golf Club, Tarragona which is on the East coast of Spain between Barcelona and Valencia.
Neil shot a two-under-par 70 with birdies at the first, second, seventh and 14th, his only bogey coming at the 16th.
Savage would have been alongside his compatriot but for a double bogey 7 at the 17th which knocked him back to a par 72. He had birdied the second, seventh, ninth and 14th but also bogeyed the eighth and 13th.
Welsh amateur David Boote, a graduate of Stanford University, California, is sharing a two-stroke lead on four-under 68 with Germany's Christian Braeunig.
A third Scot in the field of 20, Wallace Booth, had a double bogey 6 at the 18th on his way to a 76 and joint 12th place.
