Gordon Hilson wins Bernard Gallacher 

Trophy at Bathgate with net 69 (best back 9)

Our new season started at Bathgate today when the silverware contested was The Bernard Gallacher Trophy with 80 members enjoying a well groomed course on a dry day.

The winner of the trophy went down to the back nine of four  players on 69 nett with Gordon Hilson (Winterfield) edging ahead with a back nine of 34 to pip David Brydon (Torwoodlee)  34.5 (37 less 2.5) closely followed by Andrew Oldcorn (Kings Acre) 35 and Alan Crabbe (Kingsknowe) also 35 (37 less 2).

Best scratch score of the day was 69 was, by Gordon Hillson (Winterfield) and Andrew Oldcorn (Kings Acre). Three playes were a shot further back on 70 - Neil Henderson (Renaissance Club), Gordon Law (Uphall) and Shaun McAllister (Bruntsfield Links).

Top handicap score was also shared on 69 by David Brydon (Torwoodlee) (74 less 5) and new member - Alan Crabbe (Kingsknowe) (73 less 4)with another Kingsknowe member and stalwart Donny Munro on 70 (72 less 2).

Top Trainee was another new member - Chris Curran (Bathgate) on 71.

Top Senior was Ron Grant (Baberton) on 71 (77 less 6).

Next Wednesday we head to Dalmahoy (West).
