Great Scott! McPherson beats Torrance in 

quarter-finals

Scott McPherson of Bothwell Castle Golf Club produced the shock of the day when he beat stroke-play title winner Jonathan Torrance at the 18^th hole in the afternoon quarter-finals. 

Scott conceded yardage off the tee to Jonathan but his short game was in top order all day as he progressed to the semi-final where he will play Jack McMorris of East Kilbride who was four under par for his day’s golf. 

The other semi-final is between home favourite Aaron McGinlay and Matthew Dalrymple of Old Ranfurly Golf Club.
