There will be more birdies at the Arbroath Smokie Seniors next Wednesday and Thursday

 Birdies galore at Meldrum House Hotel's golf course which goes back to its exclusive membership today after playing host to the 2nd Aberdeen Senior Masters, won by 49 year old Tim Spence, a PGA professional from West Sussex, writes Colin Farquharson.
The next stop on the independent Senior Golf Circuit - for professionals and amateurs aged 48 and over and run by Scot David James - is the Arbroath Smokie Seniors on Wednesday and Thursday next week.
As the Aberdeen Senior Masters proved, there is a place for amateurs alongside the professionals and there's a £500 first prize voucher for them.
It is not too late to enter, either as a 48 and over senior or a 48 and over amateur to the 36-hole Arbroath Smokie Seniors
There will be an over-60s category.
All players musr register at the Arbroath Artisan Golf Clubhouse on Tuesday (9am to 10.30am or 15.30 to 17.00 and pay entry in cash). 
Entry fee is £200 plus an extra £25 if you are not a member of the Senior Golf Circuit.
