FORRESTER PARK PAIR WIN LOMBARD 

TROPHY TRIP TO ALGARVE

The Forrester Park Golf Resort pairing of professional Paul Edgcombe and amateur member Jamie Taylor are heading for the Lombard Trophy Grand Final on the Algarve in September after winning the Scottish Qualifying competition at Crieff Golf Club today (Thursday).

They shot a net better ball score of 10-under-par 61 to head a field of 49 pairs by one stroke.

Edgcombe and Taylor reached the turn in seven-under 30 and came home in three-under 31 with their only bogey coming at the 12th.

Edgcombe earned £450 but will now have his eyes on a first prize of £12,000 in the Grand Final at Vila Sol Golf Club, Vilamoura on September 22-23.

Only the winners go forward from each of the regional venues so runners-up Simon Milne and Ian McPherson (Airdrie) had the hardest luck story of a nine-under-par round of 62 (33-29) which included THREE net eagles, at the par-5 sixth and the par-4 10th and 16th. Milne had the consolation of winning £375.
