Jordan Spieth in top 10, Bryce Molder leads
after first round at Colonial
Those are dangerous words to hear for the rest of the field, but it’s the truth after the World No. 2 opened the Dean & DeLuca Invitational with a 3-under 67. The score put Spieth within three of the lead.
The top of the leaderboard belongs to Bryce Molder, who went out in nine pars but birdied six of his final nine to open in 6-under 64. Scoring came for others, though, on Day One, as Patrick Reed, Webb Simpson and Anirban Lahiri all posted 5 under. Jason Dufner and Ryan Palmer came in at 4 under.
Adam Hadwin shot 2-under 68 to finish the day at T-18.
Spieth finished T-2 at Colonial last year and has top-15 finishes at the event in each of his three appearances here.
