McKechnie wins at Elgin after stepping up 

late from reserve list

 Paul McKechnie was a late call-up from the reserve list to play in today's Elgin Golf Club pro-am - and the Braid Hills man made the most of the opportunity presented by the withdrawal of Jonathan Lomas (Caprington) whose wife had a baby at 6.30am on Thursday morning. 
McKechnie, with birdies at the 11th, 12th and 14th offset by a bogey at the first,  shot a two-under-par 67 to win the top prize of £850 by one stroke from Greig Hutcheon (Paul Lawrie Golf Centre) who led the Speyside Scaffolding No 2 team of Dave Allen (handicap 22), Graham Tatters (16) and hrisHenderson (16) to victory in the pro-am event with an 11-under--par net score of 58.
