Braemar member wins after countback

Host club member Austen Pirie won the Braemar 36-hole Open for players with handicaps 10 to 28 on Sunday.
After the deluge of Saturday, which cut the lower handicap players' competition to one round, the course dried out nicely to allow the Sunday  section to go ahead over 36 holes.
Pirie's total of 148 with rounds of 78 and 70 was matched by Martyn Summers (Portlethen), 76-72, but Pirie won by virtue of having the better second round.

Consolation for Summers was that he won the handicap top prize by two shots
