  A note from the Leven Links Joint Committee Chairman…..

Jen Low – Secretary of Leven Links Joint Committee

 – Kilimanjaro Climb

In September 2015, Jen along with her 3 sisters will be climbing Mount Kilimanjaro – Africa’s largest mountain, standing at 19,341 feet (5,895m) – to raise vital funds and awareness of the awful Motor Neuron Disease and the Charity MND Scotland. They are the only charity providing care, information and research funding for those affected in Scotland.

In 2012 her Aunt Ellie died; a very youthful 63, after fighting so bravely against MND.  It took only 18 months after diagnosis for Ellie to lose her battle.

MND is truly terrifying.  There is no known cure or treatment.  Gradually it stops you from moving, speaking, eating and eventually breathing and it doesn't affect your intellect, you know exactly what is happening to you every step of the way.  The end result is always fatal.

MND Scotland provides essential support for people affected.  They provide advice, information and care; lending essential equipment and respite care.  They are the only charity in Scotland supporting not only the sufferers but their family and friends.

Leven Links are supporting their Secretary by hosting a Charity Golf Day and we hope you will come along and enjoy a wonderful day supporting a truly worthwhile charity.
