BEN STOW BEST OF BRITS AT LAKE MACQUARIE

Ben Stow, pictured, who shot a par 72 for a share of 27th place, did best of the three Englishmen competing in the first round of the Lake Macquarie international men's stroke-play tournament at Belmont Golf Club, Sydney.

Compatriots Paul Howard (T38) and Nick Marsh (T65) had scores of 73 and 75 respectively in a field of 173 players.
Luke Toomey and Corey Conners share a two-stroke lead on five-under-par 67.
