Kenneth Ferrie and Chris Kelly shot the best individual rounds of three-under-par 67 on a very wet day at Deeside Golf Club for the Paul Lawrie Invitatonal pro-am.
Steven O'Hara (Mouse Valley) had a 68, his brother Paul (Clydeway Golf) a 69 and European Tour Q School Stage 1 winner Neil Fenwick (Dunbar) a 70. Although not "official money," Paul Lawrie put up £500, £250 and £100 for the best three individual scores.
There was some very good scoring in awful weather with some of greens, particularly the 18th, beginning to show signs of excess water by the end of play.
Steven O'Hara piloted the Hunting 3 team of Alan Reid (11), Alan Morrison (16) and Innes Miller (3) to victory in the pro-am team event with a net 16-under-par 124.
They finished three shots clear of the Marcliffe Hotel 1 team whose pro was Chris Kelly and five clear of Farmfoods 3 (Neil Fenwick).
