SCOTS MEN LOSE TO ENGLAND IN THIRD PLACE PLAY-OFF

Scotland 3-2 to England in the third place play-off at the European senior men's amateur team championship at Pannonia Golf and Country Club, Hungary today.
Scots' skipper John Fraser (Royal Burgess) lost at the 19th to Richard Partridge in the decisive tie of an evenly-contested match.

Lindsay Gordon and David Gardiner bt Charles Banks and Andrew Stracey 1 hole.
Ian Brotherston lost to Richard Latham 2 and 1.
John Fraser lost to Richard Partridge at the 19th.
Lindsay Blair bt Martin Galway 2 and 1.
Alan O'Neill lost to Tyrone Carter 3 and 2

In the championship final, top seeds Ireland beat Sweden 4-1with wins by Tom Cleary and Michael Quirke (3 and 2), Arthur Pierse (3 and 2), Maurice Kelly (halved), Adrian Morrow (halved) and Garth McGimpsey (5 and 4).
