MICHAEL STEWART FINISHES DOWN THE FIELD IN ALPS TOUR EVENT
Former Walker Cup player Michael Stewart finished joint 42nd in the Alps Tour's Asiago Open at Asiago Golf Club, Italy today.
The Troon man, a past Scottish amateur champion, shot 69, 71 and 72 for a four-under-par total of 212 - 14 shots behind the winner, England's Steven Brown who played in the same winning GB and I team as Stewart at Royal Aberdeen in 2011.
Brown had rounds of 67, 63 and 68 for 12-under 198 and won the first prize of 5,800 Euros by three shots.
Stewart, who had five bogeys amd three birdies in his final round, earned 340 Euros. He was the only Scot to survive the 36-hole cut.
