LANARKSHIRE BOYS WIN WEST OF SCOTLAND LEAGUE
Willie Sharpe, past president of the Lanarkshire Golf Association, with the title-winning Lanarkshire boys' team
REPORT FROM WILLIE SHARPE
Lanarkshire Boys were crowned West of
Scotland champions today with an 8-0 victory over Glasgow Boys at Wishaw Golf
Club.
Lanarkshire started the match knowing that any sort of victory would be
enough to win the league but the margin of victory was far greater than anyone
expected.
Team manager Ian Rankin of Colville Park was delighted with the
result and felt the boys deserved their league victory as they had to face
three away games this year.
