NEIL FENWICK WINS EAST ALLIANCE TUNISIA TRIP PRIZE
By ALAN GREENSHIELDS
Edinburgh and East of Scotland Alliance secretary/treasurer
Good afternoon all. Hope 2013 is treating you well.
I'm afraid the virus going around has floored me at the moment hence the delay in getting results to you but here they are now:
A healthy field of 98 challenged for The Berwickshire Trophy and up
until late in the day it looked like it would be decided on better
inward half until Neil Fenwick (pictured above) of Dunbar in Game 28 forged ahead with a
fantastic 5 under par 63.
His birdie-par-eagle-birdie start built the
base of an outward nine of 30. Neil also wins the special prize that was
up for grabs to a professional - a free trip to the Tunisia Golf Festival in
Hammamet next month.
This prize is thanks to work done by Colin
Farquharson of Scottish Golfview in negotiating with the trip organisers, Menara Travel of London.
Well done, Neil - enjoy your week
in the sun!
Second place scratch prize was split three ways also to the pro ranks via
Jamie McLeary (Dalmahoy), local Keir McNicoll (Gullane) and Chris
Russell (Archerfield), all on 66.
Top Handicap prize was also a three-way split with net 64s earned
by Danny Airens (Falkirk Tryst) 73 less 9, Donny Munro (Kingsknowe) 67
less 3 and Peter Ritchie (Bathgate) 73 less 9.
Top Senior Prize went to Stuart Wardlaw (Harburn) on net 66 (78 less 12).
SCRATCH ORDER OF MERIT LEADERS
The Scratch Order of Merit after today's points is really warming
up. Andrew Erskine holds onto his lead but is much reduced.
Top 4 are
Andrew Erskine (Ratho Park) - 389
James Dick (Duddingston) - 386
Gordon Law (Uphall) - 386
Chris Morris (Kingsknowe) - 382
HANDICAP ORDER OF MERIT LEADERS
Danny Airens (Falkirk Tryst) - 126.5
Alan MacKay (Kingsknowe) - 97.5
David Brydon (Torwoodlee) - 83
Darren Love (Archerfield) - 79.5
Next outing is in two weeks when we head back down the coast to The Glen, North Berwick on January 23
