JAMES BYRNE DROPS FOUR LATE SHOTS - MISSES CUT BY THREE
Banchory's James Byrne dropped four shots to par over the last five holes - and will miss the projected cut by three shots at the halfway stage of the Thailand Championship at Amata Spring Country Club, Bangkok.
The former Walker Cup player had a triple bogey 7 at the 14th and a bogey at the 18th in a second-round 75 for a tally of three-over 147.
Several players still have to finish their second rounds on Saturday morning but it is forecast that those with 36-hole tallies of 144 and better will qualify for the last two rounds.
South African Charl Schwartzel (65-65) leads by four shots with a 14-under-par total of 130.
