HUTCHEON IS A MAN WITH A MISSION AS HE FLIES OUT TO TURKEY

GREIG HUTCHEON ... WANTS TO PLAY FOR GB AND I IN
NEXT SEPTEMBER'S PGA CUP MATCH AT SLALEY HALL

Greig Hutcheon will be leaving the snow and frost of Aberdeenshire tomorrow to fly out to the warmth and ideal golfing weather in Turkey
He is a man with a mission to win a place for the first time in the Great Britain and Ireland PGA Cup team when he tees it up in the Titleist PGA play-offs.
The Banchory-based PGA professional is one of four Scots who have qualified to compete in the £15,000 tournament at Antalya Golf Club's PGA Sultan Course from Monday to Thursday.
Hutcheon, who topped the Scottish PGA Order of Merit, is joined by Scott Henderson (Kings Links Golf Centre) and David Orr (Mearns Castle Golf Academy) who were second and third respectively.
West Linton's Welshman Gareth Wright, who alongwith Orr and David Patrick helped Scotland win the PGAs of Europe international team title in Spain last week, is also in the 24-strong field, courtesy of his victory in the Glenmuir PGA Professional championship.
Hutcheon is also excited about the changes to the tournament which has seen it expand to 72 holes and will also see the top three finishers automatically gain selection for the GB and I team to play the United States in next September's PGA Cup match at De Vere Slalely Hall in the North-east of England.
Greig said: "The chance to qualify to play in the PGA Cup match is exciting. I'm never going to play in a Ryder Cup so this is the next being thing I can hope to do professionally and I would love to represent Great Britain and Ireland."
In addition, a top-10 finish will secure entry to the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth next spring while the winner of the Turkey play-offs wll also gain entry to a number of other European and Challenge Tour events.
Hutcheon, now 39. has a good record in the PGA play-offs, having won the tournament in 2010 and finished sixth last year despite back and hip problems which have happily improved.
"The problem last year was related to wear and tear but I am going to be fit this time round, which is nice, he said.
"I have played well this year on the Tartan Tour but was very disappointed in how I played in the big events - the BMW PGA Championship and the Johnnie Walker at Gleneagles.
"Although I'm not on the European Tour I still feel I can play to that level."
His season has not been without its trials though.
"My favourite driver snapped so I was trying different drivers. Then the injury flared up again but it's OK now and I'm looking forward to playing at the PGA Sultan.
"It's a great course and a world-class venue as we've seen recently with it hostng the Eisenhower Trophy and World Golf Finals with Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy."
