GEORGE WITHER WINS PROFESSIONAL'S TROPHY AT DALMAHOY

Some very closely matched scoring at this week's Dalmahoy West Course fixture saw George Wither of Lothianburn lift the Professional's Trophy with a net 66 (68 less 2) on a better inward half of 31 (32 less 1 ), even with a three-putt at the last hole when attempting to finish with five 3s.
Andrew Oldcorn (Kings Acre), with a gross score of 66 (33-33) secured the top scratch prize of the day.
A total of 83 players enjoyed the sunshine, albeit in a temperature not much above freezing.
Second scratch prize went to Sean McGarvey (Glencorse) with a 67, two shots ahead of home player Mark Kerr (Dalmahoy) and Steven Mackie (The Dukes) both on 69.
In the Handicap prizelist, second place behind George Wither was shared three ways with Duddingston Seniors Hinton Bootland (75 less 8) and Iain Stavert (71 less 4) securing two of the net 67s, the third coming from Glyn Stevens (Kings Acre) (74 less 7).
Top Senior Prize went to Willie Miller (Falkirk Tryst) on 68 (78 less 10).
Scratch Order of Merit sees Andrew Erskine (Ratho Park) maintain top spot on 334 points.
Chris Morris (Kingsknowe) maintains second place on 296.5 with James Dick (Duddingston) now in third place on 291.5.
In the Handicap Order of Merit Danny Airens (Falkirk Tryst) moves into top spot on 77.5pt and Darren Love (Archerfield) drops to second on 67.5pt with Iain Wilson (Longniddry) going down to third  place on 67pt.
The last outing before the Festive break will be at Dunbar next week.
