HUTCHEON LAST TO FIRST, CAMERON SHOOTS AN ALBATROSS

The odd golden eagle can be seen in the North-east of Scotland but never an albatross!
One did pop up on the McDonald Golf Club course at Ellon, Aberdeenshire today in the annual pro-am - a hole in one at a par-4 hole by Tartan Tour pro Ross Cameron (pictured)
An Ellon man who used to be attached to the McDonald club - he is now sponsored by Saltire Energy, Cameron holed his tee shot at the 14th hole (255yd) on his way to a round of six-over-par 76.

Having "shot" an albatross, does that mean Ross Cameron will end up like the Ancient Mariner (google it!).
Banchory's Greig Hutcheon lived up to the "last shall be first" biblical statement in winning the £1,100 top prize with a five-under-par round of 66.

Hutcheon was the last of the 29 pros off the first tee and his score pipped long-time clubhouse leader James McKinnon (Irvine) who earned a £879 consolation prize.
Hutcheon's card included seven birdies, four of them in a row from the 13th. He had earlier birdied the second, sixth and seventh but dropped shots at the third and 12th.
Scott Henderson (Kings Links) finished third on 67 for a £660 pay-out. He had five birdies.
Host club pro Sandy Aird who earned £497 for finishing joint fourth on 68 picked up a £132 bonus for leading home the winning pro-am team - also locals - James Callander (handicap 18), Gavin Morrison (13) and John Hutchison (22).

First off the tee at 9am, their net total of 15-under-par 125 stood up all day as the winning score.
