GOLF STARS SET FOR BAHRAIN SHOWDOWN

World golf stars, Colin Montgomerie, Camilo Villegas, Retief Goosen and Michael Campbell are heading to the Kingdom of Bahrain for the inaugural Riffa Views Invitational, taking place at The Royal Golf Club, Riffa Views from November 13 to 15.
This star-studded inaugural event celebrates the completion of the new Colin Montgomerie designed 18-hole PGA Championship golf course, part of the prestigious Riffa Views development which offers the most distinguished residential address in Bahrain.
While construction of the facilities and villas at Riffa Views will continue the event is something of a milestone for this highly sought after resort, which will fully open its doors to guests, Golf & Leisure Club members and the many families that have already purchased property on the development at the end of 2008.
The finale to the three days of celebrations will be a Skins competition between the four global stars over 18 holes.
Eight-time Order of Merit winner, Colin Montgomerie, two time US Open Champion Retief Goosen and US Open Champion, Michael Campbell will be up against the youthful might of Columbian, Camilo Villegas, who will be brimming with confidence following his back-to-back US PGA Tour wins at the BMW Championship and the Tour Championship last weekend.
The players will go head-to-head as they compete for over $250,000 of prize money, all of which they will donate to their nominated charity.
The three-day event will also showcase a new nine-hole Montgomerie-designed executive par-3 course, as the four professionals and celebrities five-time Olympic Gold Medallist, Sir Steve Redgrave, tennis legend Boris Becker and Indian world cup cricket winning captain Kapil Dev take part in a pro-am competition over the course.
Colin Montgomerie said, “I am really looking forward to the Riffa Views Invitational. Of course it is very special to be playing it on a course I have designed and although I will have some very stiff competition, I will be hoping that my ‘local’ knowledge of the course will give me a slight edge on the day!”
Camilo Villegas is also looking forward to visiting Riffa Views, adding, “I can’t wait to go up against Monty, Cambo and Goose. I am playing great at the moment having won my first two titles on Tour - I hope I will hold my own and walk away with the most skins.”
