Everett is off and running in the
lead at Scottish Alliance

It's a few years since Craig Everett, professional at Caldwell Golf Club, Renfrewshire, won the Scottish Golfers' Alliance championship at Scotscraig GC, Fife but he looked in good a shape as ever as he led the field over the Moray club's Old Course at Lossiemouth today.
Making light of the intermittent rain, Everett, pictured above by Cal Carson Golf Agency, son of a former British champion miler, shot a three-under-par 68 to show a shot ahead of fellow pros Ross Harrower (Boat of Garten) and Alastair Webster (Edzell).
Sharing fourth place on 71 over the Moray Old course are defending champion Graeme McInnes (Murcar Links), Bryan Fotheringham (Forres), a former winner of the championship's amateur title, and Stewart Savage (Dalmuir).
Elgin professional Kevin Stables, a one-time regular winner on the Tartan Tour, had the kind of start that must have made him wish he had not bothered entering - a lost ball at the first to run up a double bogey 6, a 10 at the par-5 second and a bogey 5 at the third.
But, having dropped eight shots in the first three holes, Kevin went on to finish with an eight-over-par 79, which means he played his last 15 holes in par. Well done!
Tom Galloway, the 98-year-old Dunfermline member, did not have any double figures on a scorecard of 110 at the Moray New course.
John Edmiston (Burntisland), who would have been the second oldest competitor at 86 years of age, withdrew before the start.
The players switch courses today before a cut decides the qualifiers to play the third and final round over the Moray Old course.
