Calum Stewart flies off
to Brazil as North U-15
match-play champion
Calum Stewart (Brora), pictured right, flies off to Brazil on Friday morning to take part in the Nick Faldo Series Grand Final in title-winning form.
Today, at Forres Golf Club, he was an impressive winner of the Under-15s age group of the North boys’ match-play championship, sponsored by Sandy Aird, the Forres Golf Club professional.
He beat Jack Presly (Banchory) by 6 and 4 in the final.
Gavin Hay (Grantown-on-Spey) won the Under-18s’ title by beating Jamie Treasurer (Inverness) 3 and 2 in the final.
The handicap championship was won by Blair Leslie (Moray). He beat Ian Stewart (Brora) by two holes in the final. Blair has a handicap of 16 and Ian plays off 18.

Under-18 years: Best gross aggregate – Derek Ramsay (Elgin) 72 + 72 = 144.
Under-18 years: Best net aggregate – Jeff Wright (Forres) (2) 68 +73 = 141
