Newmachar won the handsome Dalswinton Trophy - which at one time was a Royal Hong Kong Jockey Club racing prize - at Deeside golf course today for the first time since 2001.
The host club's invitation tournament, first played in 1959 when Deeside member Richard Kelman donated the trophy, looked like being won by the home team who led by four shots at the end of the first round but they faded to fourth place over the second circuit.
Newmachar's winning quartet were Euan McIntosh, Martin Lawrence, Kevin Riley and Chris Simpson with a total of 300.
They finished five shots ahead of Northern who pipped Nigg Bay for second place on the better second round total after both teams totalled 305.
