Great Dane at Royal Dornoch's Carnegie
Shield first qualifying round
BY ROBIN WILSON
Copenhagen-born Jorg Peter Paulus, a member of Reichswald Golf club near Nuremberg, played his first ever shot at the world famous Royal Dornoch Golf Club at 7am, then after another 67 hits found himself leading the first round qualifying scores of the 2008 Carnegie Shield competition.
After an outwardpar count to 35 from two bogeys and two birdies, the Dane came home in two under par 33 with birdies at the 11th, 15th and final hole, with one bogey at the par three 13th hole for his two under par count of 68.
Paulus is two ahead of local member Ian Rennie and six in front of holder, Fifer, Peter Latimer who handicapped his card with a couple of sixes on the home stretchf in two halves of 37.
