WILLETT TWO UP AFTER 18 HOLES IN SPANISH FINAL
England's Walker Cup player Daniel Willett was two up after the first 18-holes of the Spanish men's open amateur championship final against Spain's Jordi Garcia Pinto at Pals Golf Club, Gerona in the north-east of the country.
Willett was four under par for the first round, having won the first and second with birdies but lost the fourth, fifth and seventh to be one down at the turn. He birdied the 12th to draw all square again and then birdied the short 15th and long 16th to re-establish a two-hole lead.
The 17th and 18th holes were halved.
Gordi was two under par for the first 18 holes.
