MACAULAY LEADS SGU ORDER OF MERIT
WITH ONLY LANARK EVENT TO GO


The weekend play-off win by Callum Macaulay (Tulliallan) in the South-east District Open has put him in the pole position in the Scottish Golf Union Order of Merit with the last counting event coming up on Saturday and Sunday. Macaulay leads with 615pt from Lloyd Saltman (Craigielaw), who is making his amateur swansong in the Walker Cup this weekend, with Wallace Booth (Comrie), Kevin McAlpine (Alyth) and Glenn Campbell (Blairgowrie) - the man Macaulay beat in the play-off at West Linton) in third, fourth and fifth places.
The final 72-hole event in the SGU Order of Merit programme is the Newlands Trophy at Lanark Golf Club on Saturday and Sunday.
