IAN HUTCHEON LEADS BY FOUR OVER HIS
HOME COURSE AT MONIFIETH
Scottish seniors champion Ian Hutcheon was always going to be favourite to win the inaugural East of Scotland Seniors Open – part of the new Scottish Senior Golf Society circuit – over his home course at Monifieth where he still plays off +2 at the age of 65.
Ian has not won the title yet but a superb round of five-under-par 66 sees him four strokes clear of a field of 102 with the second and last round to be played on Friday.
His closest rivals are Perth's Brian Grieve (King James VI), James Watt from Letham Grange, and Ayrshire's David Miller (Kilmarnock Barassie), all bracked on the 70 mark.
