NO OFFICIAL STATEMENT AFTER SGU
AREAS MEET TO DISCUSS REPORT
Delegates to today's meeting of the 16 areas of the Scottish Golf Union at Falkirk Tryst Golf Club – only Argyll & Bute were not represented because of weather problems – were tight-lipped at the end of it.
The area officials met to discuss the implications of the Reedie Report which advocates a single management body rather than the existing board and executive council to run the Scottish Golf Union’s affairs.
It is understood that the areas, with one exception, were strongly against doing away with the traditional format of a 16-strong executive which consists of one representative from each of the areas.
The SGU executive will meet later this coming week after which a statement will be issued, clarifying their position.
