CUT IN FLORIDA
North-east assistant professionals Mark Barnard and Paul Cormack, both from Banchory, failed to survive the 36-hole cut in the fourth tournament of the NGA Hooters Tour Winter Series at Timacuan Golf Club, St Mary in Florida.
A total of 40 players with totals of one-over-par 143 went on the third round in the rain-hit tournament after the second round was not finished until Thursday morning.
Barnard, attached to Slaley Hall, had two rounds of 73 to be joint 55th on 146. Cormack (Inchmarlo Golf Centre) scored 75 and 77 for a share of 90th place on 152.
American Colby Beckstrom won the $12,000 first prize with 66, 68 and 65 for 14-under-par 199 - two shots ahead of runner-up Nick Gillam (67-67-67) who collected $6,000.
Ty Harris (67-70-65) and Travis Perkins (68-66-68) finished joint third on 202 and each won $4,500.
