JEEV MILKA SINGH'S FOURTH WIN
BOOKS PLACE IN US MASTERS
Indian ace Jeev Milkha Singh, pictured right, booked his place in next year's US Masters when he landed his fourth title of the year at the Golf Nippon Series JT Cup 2006 today.
Singh, who made all the running from the second round onwards, clinched victory with a level par 70 for an 11-under-par final total of 269. He finished one shot ahead of Nobuhiro Masuda.
With the win, Singh has secured his place in the top-50 on the official World Golf Rankings which automatically gains him an invite to play in the US Masters next April. He was previously ranked 55th in the world but reached his goal after his success this week.
Singh, who played in the Doug Sanders world junior championships in Aberdeen when he was 16 and 17, has made headlines this year since wining the Volvo China Open in April. He continued his success story in Europe when he lifted the Volvo Masters in Spain which was the season-ending tournament on the European Tour in October.
He was crowned the Asian Tour’s UBS Order of Merit winner after his joint third place finish at the UBS Hong Kong Open and just last week, Singh tasted his first win in Japan at the Casio World Open.
