Field of 106 for North Scottish Golfers' Alliance meeting

MAIR AND CAMPBELL BEST WITH
EARLY 65s AT SPEY BAY

Two early birds, Alec Mair (Moray) and John Campbell (Grantown on Spey), shared top spot on 65 in Saturday's North Scottish Golfers' Alliance fixture at Spey Bay. In all, 106 played with the last competitors having just enough light to finish.
Alec Mair (Moray) lost a ball at the fifth and three-putted the last but cancelled that out with a pair of eagle 3s at the two long holes.
John Campbell was steadier, helping himself to five birdies.
Top handicap scores (outwith Mair's 63) came from Donny Macleod (Loch Ness), who won the high section with a net 66 off 11, and Bill Duncan (Moray) who won the low section with 67 off eight.
