Asian Tour Qualifying School Stage 1 at halfway


JAMIESON BEST PLACED OF SIX
SCOTS HOPEFULS IN THAILAND

Scott Jamieson from Cathkin Braes was best placed of the six Scots in the field at the halfway stage of the Asian Tour Qualifying School Stage 1 competitions in Thailand today.
Jamieson, pictured right, has had scores of 73 and 70 to be lying joint eighth behind leader Jin Park (Korea) (66-70) at Plutaluang Golf Club. Only the leading 13 and ties at the end of 72 holes will go forward to the Final Q School later this month.
Mark Kerr from Edinburgh is joint 56th at this venue after rounds of 78 and 75.
Former Scottish amateur champion Graham Gordon from Newmachar has shot 75 and 74 at Emerald Golf Club to be sharing 31st place on 149 behind joint leaders James Morrison (England) and Albert Pistorius (South Africa). Here again, only the top 13 and ties after four rounds will progress.
Mark Loftus (Cowglen) has scored 77 and 73 to be lying joint 36th on 150.
John McKenzie is tied 51st on 153 (76-77) while Newmachar amateur Euan McIntosh dropped down to joint 69th place after following up a 73 with an 83 for 156.
There are no Scots playing at the third venue, Pattana Golf & Sports Resort from where the leading 16 and ties qill qualifying.
