MARTIN LAIRD NEEDS LATE PUSH
FOR US TOUR PLAYER'S CARD

Glasgow's Martin Laird, a former Scottish youths champion and American college circuit player for Colorado State University, is on course to survive the fourth-round cut - but needs to improve to make the top 30 by the time the sixth and final round is completed in the US PGA Tour at La Quinta, California.
Martin has had rounds of 73, 70 and 70 for a three-under-par tally of 213.
He birdied the first, sixth, 11th and 13th over the PGA West Jack Nicklaus course on Friday. He had bogeys at the second and 15th.
The leading European player is Germany's Alex Cejka (pictured above) with 74, 70 and 66 for 210 and a share of 17th place.

Former major tournament winner Lee Janzen is on the same 213 mark as Martin Laird.
