SENIOR WOMEN'S HOME INTERNATIONALS

SCOTLAND SHARE FOURSOMES WITH WALES

Scotland shared the foursomes 1-1 with Wales on the opening morning of the Senior Women’s Home International matches at Hamilton Golf Club today.
Scotland lost the first foursomes when Vicki Thomas and Denise Richards finished two up on Fiona De Vries and Pamela Williamson. The Scots had been three down after 11 holes but pulled it back to all square by winning the 12th, 13th and 14th.
Then Vicki and Denise took the 17th and 18th for a two-hole victory.
Liz Campbell and Moira Thomson won by one hole against Ann Lewis and Janet Doleman.
The Scots pair had a slight lead coming into the closing holes but lost the 15th to be pulled back to all square. Liz and Moira hit back immediately by going ahead again at the 16th and they halved the last two holes.
Champions England were held to 1-1 by Ireland in the foursomes.

Stirling v M McKenna.

Foursomes: F De Vries and P Williamson lost to V Thomas and D Richards 2 holes; E Campbell and M Thomson bt A Lewis and J Doleman 1 hole.
