STRESSES THAT IT'S OPEN TO ALL BOYS

North District of the SGU secretary David Black (that's him on the right) would like to remind boys in the Aberdeen and North-east area – or anywhere else in Scotland for that matter - that the new North of Scotland Open boys’ match-play championship, to be played over the Forres Golf Club course from Monday to Thursday, October 16 to 19, is OPEN to ALL boys, wherever they live or were born, as long as they were under-18 years on January 1.
“This is a new championship which will hopefully become a firm part of the North District fixture list for many years to come,” says David.
“Entry forms are available on the North District website at http://www.sgunorthgolf.com/ or by phoning the organiser, Sandy Aird, the Forres Golf Club professional, on 01309-673102.
Entry Fee is only £5.
There will be two qualifying rounds on Monday and Tuesday, October 16 and 17. There will be two qualifying age groups – Aged Under-18 and Under-15.
The best 16 SCRATCH totals in both age groups will qualify for the match-play stages on Wednesday and Thursday, October 18 and 19.
In the following draw, entrants are from the host Forres club unless indicated. Players will leave the tee in threes at 8min intervals.
