FRESHMAN MAKES MARK IN OHIO
ALAN GLYNN (jt 4th) HELPS XAVIER WIN
Alan Glynn, a freshman student from Middlesex, finished joint fourth and helped Cincinnati’s Xavier University golf team to win its own invitational tournament at Oasis Golf Club, Loveland in Ohio this week.
Glynn scored 70, 71 and 64 for a total of 10-under-par 206 – four shots behind the winner, team-mate Jason Kokrak with 65, 69 and 68. Alan birdied six of his final 10 holes for an inward half of 31.
Xavier University had three players in the top five in compiling a team total of 830 – 10 shots ahead of runners-up Austin Peay State with Maryland (843) third of 18 teams.
