JOHN CAIRNEY'S DOUBLE WHAMMY
- ARROL CUP AND DOC THOM SALVER

Irvine Ravenspark’s John Cairney won the final event of the season, the Arrol Cup tournament at Prestwick St Nicholas, to clinch victory in the Ayrshire Golf Association Order of Merit for the Doc Thom Salver.
John’s 36-hole total of 131 in the Arrol Cup saw him finish four strokes ahead of A Docherty (Cowglen). Chris Harkins (Ayr Belleisle) and Steven Wallace (Prestwick St Cuthbert) finished one shot further back in joint third place.
Barry Crawford (West Kilbride) came second in the Order of Merit ahead of third-placed Harkins who also gained points in the penultimate counting event, the Welbeck Links tournament.
