KATY McNICOLL FROM CARNOUSTIE
FINISHES THIRD AT ORMOND BEACH

Katy McNicoll from Carnoustie, an 18-year-old second-year student at Lynn University, Boca Ration in Florida, finished third in the Lady Falcon Invitational college tournament.
Katy, pictured right, had rounds of 75 and 70 over the par-72, 5,937yd Riviera County Club course at Ormond Beach, Florida for a one-under-par aggregate of 145.
It was her best performance yet on the American college circuit after several good tournament results during her summer holidays back home.
Katy, whose older brother Keir won the East of Scotland Open and made his debut for Scotland in the men's home internationals earlier this month, finished three shots behind Ashley Kozlowski (Stetson University) who scored 72 and 70 for 142 and one behind runner-up Tara Allen (Embry-Riddle College) (73-70).
The first four finishers all shot three-under-par 70s in the second round – the lowest score of the 36-hole tournament.
Katy’s fine effort also helped Lynn University to catch first-round leaders Bethune-Cookman College and win the team event by four strokes with a total of 599. Teams from 12 colleges took part.
