SCOTTISH CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP ON SUNDAY

CORFU PRIZE TRIP AWAITS CLUB TRIO WHO WIN SCOTTISH
CLUB TITLE AT COWGLEN

Sixteen teams of three male golfers from all over Scotland will competing at Cowglen Golf Club on Sunday for the Scottish club championship but the bonus prize is a trip to sunny Corfu for the European club championship final as Scotland's champions from November 1 to 3.
It's a 36-hole Scottish final and each club team of three players has come through an area eliminator to get into the Cowglen field. On Sunday, their aggregate will be made up of their best two first-round scores added to their two best second-round scores.
Only three of the competing teams have won the Scottish club title previously - Tulliallan in 1999 and 2002, Dumfries & Galloway in 2003 and Cruden Bay in 2004. Cruden Bay have got the same three players representing them - Ross Cooper, Laurie Phillips and Michael Buchan, pictured above in that order.
There are some well known names in the other line-ups. Bryan Fotheringham, who helped Scotland win the home international title last year, is one of the Forres Golf Club trio.
Former tour professional Steve Horne is in the Tulliallan line-up and Len Salariya, who once reached the final of the Scottish amateur championship at Downfield is one of the Letham Grange trio.
Also in the Letham Grange trio is Gary Tough, head greenkeeper/course manager of the Angus golf complex and a former winner of the Craigmillar Park Open.
We'll have the results for you on this website on Sunday evening.
