SCOTLAND SCHOOLBOYS AND SCHOOLGIRLS
GO DOWN NARROWLY TO ENGLAND

Scotland lost the boys’ match 10-8 and the girls’ contest 5-4 in the annual schools golf international against England at Hillside Golf Club, Lancashire today.
As the scorelines indicate, there was not much between the sides. A missed putt here, a drive into the rough there … often meant the difference between victory and defeat.
Double winners for the Scots in both the foursomes and singles were Ross Bell (Harris Academy, Dundee), Joshua Clarke (Montrose Academy), Alan Murdoch (Stranraer Academy) and Krystle Caithness (Waid Academy, Anstruther), pictured right.
In the boys’ match England took the foursomes 3 ½-2 ½ and the singles also by a one-point margin, 6 ½-5 ½ .
England won the foursomes 2-1 in the girls’ match before the singles were shared 3-3.
