Banchory teenager James Byrne, pictured right, is hot on the trail of his first victory in a 72-hole Scottish Golf Union Order of Merit event.
James, who played for Great Britain & Ireland in the recent Jacques Leglise Trophy boys' international match against the Continent of Europe, leads the Newlands Trophy tournament at Lanark Golf Club by four strokes with scores of 68 and 66 for six-under-par 134 against a par of 70.
Chris Orr is James' closest rival on 148 with David McMillan third on 139 and four players on 140.
