A GRAND PERFORMANCE BY GILLIES

Colin Gillies (Kingsfield) won the £1,071 top prize in the Elderslie Golf Club pro-am today with a bogey-free, six-under-par round of 64.
He had birdies at the second, fifth, ninth, 12th, 15th and 18th in halves of 31 and 33.
Ricky Gray (Torrance House) and Brian Dunbar (Deer Park) were joint runners-up on 65.
Kenny Walker (Castle Park) led the Mitsui Babcock trio of amateurs, Cameron Gilmour (12), Alan Templeman (12) and Paul Robson (10) to victory in the team event with a 15-under-par net score of 55.
