BALGOWNIE PLAY SUSPENDED
BRITISH BOYS' FINAL HIT BY FOG
Play in the 36-hole final of the British boys' amateur championship was suspended on the 16th hole because of fog on the Royal Aberdeen links at Balgownie.
Sweden's Bjorn Akesson was two up on Matthew Nixon (Ashton under Lyne) and they had driven off at the 16th when the R&A officials decided that visibility had deteriorated to such an extent that the green was not visible for their second shots.
Play was due to resume at 1 pm after the players had lunch.
