LADIES BRITISH OPEN AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP


LOUISE KENNEY LEADING SCOTS
QUALIFIER AT HALFWAY STAGE

Louise Kenney from Pitreavie was the leading Scot with half the field in the Ladies British open amateur championship back in the clubhouse after the two qualifying rounds.
Louise was assured of being one of the 64 qualifiers for the match-play stages after a second-roound 77 for a three-over-par tally of 153.
Krystle Caithness (St Regulus), Heather MacRae (Dunblane New) and Gemma Webster (Hilton) also seemed certain of keeping an active interest in the championship beyond today.
Krystle had a 78 for 155, heather a 78 for 156 and Gemma an 80 for 157.
Scottish champion Martine Pow (Selkirk) was on the projected borderline with an 83 for 161.
Kylie Walker (Buchanan Castle) looked like missing the cut after an 81 for 164.
Cara Gruber (Royal Dornoch missed out on 170 after an 83.
Clare-Marie Carlton (Stirling University) had a 10 on her card in repeating a 92 for 184.
Irish Curtis Cup player Claire Coughlan from Cork led the field at seven-under-par 143 with excellent scores of 70 and 73.
