Normal service was resumed in the Paul Lawrie Golf Centre Northern Open championship at Murcar Links this morning.
As forecast last night by course manager Bob Mackay, no fog left - in fact it disappeared by 7.30pm last night - but a strong northwesterly wind.blowing over the links and it will be a tough test for the 37 players who survived the cut at four-over-par 75 and better, declared on the first-round scores alone following the abandonment of the off-on-off second round yesterday.
Perhaps an indication of how tough it will be at Murcar Links today, Anglo-Scot Mark Hillson (Tandridge), first out this morning and playing with a marker, returned a nine-over-par 80.
