WEST LINTON CONDITIONS SUITED
DEREK FISH DOWN TO THE GROUND!

Some 69 incredibly hardy soles dared to brave a very wet and windy West Linton this week in conditions perfectly suited to Indoor Bowls!
Some of the scores were very good considering what the players went through and none better than (the appropriately-named) Derek Fish, the winner of the Professional Trophy. His net 68 off two was not only the best handicap score by three shots but his gross 70 was also the second best scratch score.
Only young Scott Grieve of King's Acre beat him by a shot with a 69.
On the scratch side of things, Scott Grieve was the only player to match the par and was two clear shots ahead of his nearest professional rivals, Craig Imlah (Peebles) and David Patrick (Mortonhall), who both finished with 71s.
The next event is at Whitekirk on December 5.
West Linton leading scores:
Overall winner (Professional's Trophy) - Derek Fish (Glenbervie) (2) 68.
Leading Scratch
69 Scott Grieve (King's Acre).
71 Craig Imlah (Peebles), David Patrick (Mortonhall).
73 Stevie Lamb (Broomieknowe), Andrew Rothney (Deer Park).
