MICHAEL SIM MAKES THE BUICK OPEN CUT

Aberdeen-born Australian Michael Sim survived the halfway cut in the Buick Open at Warwick Hills Golf Club with scores of 72 and 68 for 140.
That puts him six strokes behind the triple joint leaders, Brett Quigley, Jim Furyk and Kenny Perry.

MARTIN LAIRD MAKES NATIONWIDE CUT
Meanwhile Martin Laird from Glasgow beat the cut in the Nationwide Tour event, the quaintly-named Peen'n Peek Classic at Findley Lake in New York State.
Martin, winner of an event on the No 2 US Tour earlier in the season, scored 73 and 69 for 142 and a share of 29th place behind the four-shot leader, American Paul Claxton.
